I’m so excited to finally share photos from my first plush show with you! 😀 Many of the photos were taken by my sister, Shizuka, so thank you for capturing this special day.
Where do I start? I was ecstatic to be a part of Plush You! so I worked hard to make my penguins: Emi, Yeti, and Zombie. It being my first, I wanted to fly up to Seattle for the opening. So I did along with my sisters!
I got to meet Kristen the day before and “help out” – this really meant checking out nearly every inch of her amazing store while occasionally unboxing more incredible plushies! 😉 Oh, if only I had all the money in the world, so many of them would find themselves in my home! I asked Kristen how she refrains from filling her own home with all these plushies and she admitted that it’s tough.
The show itself was so fun! These are just a few of the plush pieces that my sister and I were able to get photos of (above): MadKnits, OopisNein, Corey Ostroff, Squirrel Momma
Pipapiep (who I featured 3 years ago), Katy Kristin, Jakc Design (my sister bought the cherries in a jar)
FeltMates (huge fan of Yoko’s work), Scrumptious Delight, A Monster To Love, Chickpea Studios, Monkeys Go Home
Jenny Smith, Clare Knight, Moon’s Creations, Danamarie Hosler
Crazy cool plush sculptures from Cutesy But Not Cutesy
I can’t find the name of this artist but I loved this brain which was already sold.
Leeanna Butcher, who I got to meet at breakfast that morning. 🙂 I loved learning what she was inspired by to create these darling flower sprites.
I came back the next morning after the show to pick this Horrible Adorable up but she was sold too. Lesson learned.
My Zombie Penguin and Abominable Snowman Penguin found themselves in a box on the wall.
The zombie animals above by Brian Bell were so cool. The teeth!
Lastly, my Emi Penguin was sitting in the sold shelf because my proud aunt bought her. 🙂 Thank you, Chi-mama!
As if it wasn’t exciting enough to be there to meet artists and check out the wonderful works, I was overjoyed when I got to see people pick up my penguins and smile at them!!
Oh, you can’t see? Here’s a close up:
Thank you, smiling guy, holding my Zombie Penguin! There were other visitors that checked my penguins out but I think one sneaky photo is creepy enough. 😉
And here is my sister, Kaori, with Kentavious by Jenny Smith! Lol, he’s just so darn cute, I had to bring him home. As you can see, it’s hard to resist playing with him.
Thank you to Kristen, my family and friends, the artists I met, and everyone who came to the show!
I have so many more photos from our Seattle trip, I’ll be sharing them next week! 😀 Have a lovely weekend!
Lots of Smiles,
Akiyo
Note: If you know other artists that are pictured, please let me know and I’d be more than happy to link to their site! 🙂
